What happened: Midland Classical fell 66–51 in a district road game at Lubbock Christian on Wednesday, Jan. 28. The loss moves the Lady Knights to 15–13 overall and 2–3 in district play, while Lubbock Christian improves to 20–8 overall and 4–1 in district. Mariah Davis led MCA with 24 points, including three 3-pointers.

The big picture: MCA trailed early, scoring 8 points to Lubbock Christian’s 18 in the first quarter. The Lady Knights kept fighting, narrowing the gap to 19–30 by halftime. Lubbock Christian pulled away in the third quarter, extending their lead to 51–36. Midland Classical scored 15 points in the fourth, but the Lady Knights could not close the gap.
