Second-quarter surge send Rangers past Snyder 59–23
What happened: Greenwood pulled away early and never looked back in a 59–23 non-district home win over Snyder on Tuesday, Dec. 16. Jonathan Mendoza and Colton Rauman led the Rangers as Greenwood built separation early and continued to add to the margin throughout the night. The win moved Greenwood to 10-6, while Snyder fell to 1–13 overall.
The big picture: Greenwood began to separate early and widened the gap through the middle quarters. The Rangers led 13–7 after the first quarter, with Jonathan Mendoza scoring from both inside and beyond the arc while Colton Rauman opened the game with a first-quarter three.
Greenwood took firm control in the second quarter, outscoring Snyder 16–6 to build a 29–13 halftime lead. Mendoza continued to score from the perimeter, and Greenwood added baskets from multiple players as the margin grew.
The Rangers extended the lead immediately after the break, opening the third quarter with a 17–4 run to push the advantage to 46–17. Mendoza scored repeatedly during the stretch, while Noah Rivas and Austin Snodgrass added baskets as Greenwood entered the fourth quarter ahead 48–19.
Greenwood continued to score in the final period, closing out the win by reaching 59 points while holding Snyder to four points in the quarter.
