What happened: Legacy earned a 43–28 district win over Permian on Tuesday, Feb. 10, in the teams’ final district game of the season. The victory moved the Lady Rebels to 23–10 overall and 7–3 in district play. Permian fell to 28–8 overall and 6–4 in district. The win secured Legacy a second-place finish in 6A Region 1 District 2, behind unbeaten Frenship, and a spot in the playoffs.

The big picture: The game stayed tight early, with both teams tied 9–9 after the first quarter. Legacy matched Permian shot for shot again in the second quarter, entering halftime deadlocked at 17–17.

The Lady Rebels created separation in the third quarter, outscoring Permian 15–10 to take a 32–27 lead into the fourth. In the final quarter, Legacy limited Permian to just one point while adding 11 of its own. Mayberry scored late in the period, and Legacy closed out the 43–28 win at home.
