Lady Knights edge Compass Academy 38–32, 11-10 overall

What happened: Midland Classical earned a 38–32 road win over Odessa’s Compass Academy on Tuesday, Dec. 30, in non-district play. The victory improves MCA’s overall record to 11–10, while Compass falls to 9–8.
The big picture: Compass Academy led 8–5 after the first quarter, but MCA responded in the second to take a 15–13 lead at halftime. The Lady Knights extended the score in the third quarter, pushing the advantage to 26–22. MCA added 12 points in the fourth quarter to close out the game with their six-point win.
What’s next: Midland Classical will open district play on Friday, Jan. 2, hosting Crane (4–13 overall) at 2 p.m.
