Lady Knights roll past Trinity in crosstown district matchup

What happened: Midland Classical earned a 62–18 win over Trinity on Friday, Jan. 9, in a crosstown district matchup. The victory moved the Lady Knights to 14–10 overall and 2–0 in district play, while Trinity fell to 7–6 overall and 0–2 in district. Senior Mariah Davis led Midland Classical with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals. Malone Crunk added 11 points.
The big picture: Midland Classical set the tone early, taking a 15–2 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Lady Knights widened the lead, outscoring Trinity 15–5 and extending the margin to 30–7 at halftime. Midland Classical followed with a 16–6 third quarter, taking a 46–13 lead into the fourth. The Lady Knights outscored the Lady Chargers 16–5 in the final to take the win.
