What happened: The Lady Bulldogs rolled to a 71–38 home win over Monahans on Friday, Jan. 2, in non-conference play. The victory moved Midland to 14–7 overall, while Monahans dropped to 10–13 on the season.
The big picture: Midland built an early lead and never let up, carrying a 32–14 advantage into halftime. The Lady Bulldogs continued to extend the margin, maintaining control throughout the second half and closing out the win on their home floor. Angela Abril led the way for Midland with 19 points, including three 3-pointers. Kayden Young added 14, and Laylah Owens chipped in 12. Karlee Swarb paced Monahans with 16 points.
